ACOM 600s automatic HF linear amplifier

James (M0YOM) and I are pretty excited about a new automatic, solid state linear amplifier from the ACOM stable. 160m through 6m with continuous duty rated at 600 watts. Well, when I say portable, I mean it’s more portable than say the ACOM 2000 – but still heavier than say an AL811. But hey, it’s super sexy, automatic and has that amazing legendary ACOM metering and inbuilt protection.

It’s bigger than I thought. I did a comparison to scale with a rig we all know and love, the old (but wise) FT1000MP Mk5. You’ll notice the amp is pretty tall and is an inch or so deeper than the rig, so it’s not a K3 size. It’s actually quite a bit bigger than the KPA500.acom600 -vs- ft1000mp to scaleThe manual says: Dimensions (projections not included) and weight, operating: (W x H x D) 330 x 165 x 380 mm (13 x 6.5 x 15 In); 12 kg (26.5 Lbs).

I’ll put my name down for one. After all, a good guy can never have enough amplifiers!
